It is with great sadness that Excelier Consulting Services must say goodbye to Michael Tovey whose untimely passing has left a large gap in the consulting world. His highly regarded expertise and professionalism in the areas of adult learning, Human Resource Management and performance management will be sadly missed.

Michael Tovey commenced his career in Human Resource Management 24 years ago.  He held management, senior management and consultancy positions with various multi-national and international corporations across the world.  Michael was well recognised as a leader in the Training and Development and performance management fields with teaching appointments at Griffith University, Queensland TAFE and Private Colleges. He was an internationally recognised author of three books: Training in Australia, Mentoring in the Workplace and Managing Performance Improvement all published by Prentice Hall. He was a sought after speaker at conferences and seminars around the world.

Michael specialised in Adult Learning, Human Resource Management and Performance Management and drew on 24 years of experience in Australia and the rest of the world to provide unique, tailor made solutions to business challenges.  His ability to apply research to the practical matters of business and organisations to achieve required outcomes was rare and underpinned his consulting, which was based in sound theory and research findings.

Michael’s approach to consulting was one based on a lifetime of workplace experience strengthened by research and academic work.  He offered real life solutions with a practical focus and as such provided organisations with genuine business improvement results that were specific, tangible and measurable.
